Wildcat girls host 38th annual tournament

The Sonora Wildcat girls’ basketball team will host its 38th annual Sonora Basketball Tournament at Bud Castle Gym beginning on Thursday with competition continuing through Saturday. Eight teams, including Sonora and Bret Harte, will begin their seasons at this premier early-season tournament. The tournament will also include perennial powers Del Oro and Alameda and newcomer Bear River. “I feel good about our chances,” said Bret Harte head coach Kim Ramorini whose Bullfrogs will play Johansen at 3:30 p.m. to open the competition. “The girls are working hard and getting ready.” Del Oro, the defending champions, will open against Lodi at 5 p.m., the host Wildcats will battle Argonaut at 6:30 and Alameda will play Bear River at 8. |
