Umchu’s LeMaster rolls squeaky clean series

Jim LeMaster, of Umchu Full House, bowled 30 straight frames with a strike or spare to earn a Clean Series on Dec. 19 at Black Oak Lanes in Tuolumne.

LeMaster’s leaguemate Kevin Flanagan missed that remarkable feat by just one frame, rolling a 607.

Dave Rossi (SIRS) rolled the high men’s series and was also the only 700 for this report, a 715. 

The men’s high game went to Umchu Full House’s Warren Walker with a 279.

Wendy McBride (Gambler’s Getaway) had the women’s high series with a 582, while Marilyn Day (Young at Heart) had the women’s high game — a 206.

Shining bright like a diamond for the youth was Mahalia Ford, who rolled a 227/525,  which was 71 pins over her average. 

Another standout was 7-year old Ruby James, who bowled 91 pins over average with a 202 series.

Other notable scores include: Gold Country Youth/Adult — Darvis Lee (adult) 669; Family Affair — Curtis Leonard 257/670; SIRS — Tom Newell 254, Jim Simmons 654; Black Oak Seniors — Dave Rossi 659; High Rollers — Jared Ford 263/650; Morning Rollers — Bruce Peterson 256/653; Young at Heart — Dave Rossi 268/699, John Rago 685, Jim Simmons 680; Jokers Wild — Henry Stacy 251, Bobby Papapetrou 658; Senior Merrymakers Matt Clay 662 and Umchu Full House — Rich Robenseifner 258/656, Ralph Caspary 256 and Warren Walker a 684.

The following were inducted into the ‘I can’t believe I beat myself’ club:  SIRS — Tom Newell 81 pins over with 254; Young at Heart — Mike Dolan 79 pins over with a 248 and Jokers Wild — Henry Stacy 82 pins over with 251; Umchu Full House — Warren Walker 77 pins over with 279.  

First half league Champs include: Gold Country Youth/Adult — Mis Fitz (Jonathan Gillespie, Jake Lee and Darvis Lee); Family Affair — 2 Guys & A Peach (Linda Friedman, Larry Lane and Curtis Leonard); SIRS — Misfits (Don Banchero, Gerry Davis, Gene Deaver and Jim Simmons); Black Oak Seniors — Geritol Gang (Barbara Shimonek, Phyllis Cotta, Wilma and Tom Starrett); Morning Rollers — Gold Country Travel (Joe Rodriguez, Jim Johnson, Johnny Fox and Shirley Parades); Jokers Wild — Just Win Baby (Mary, Ralph and Steve Feola and Bobby Papapetrou) and Gamblers Getaway — Screwballs (Candice Cooke, Levi Cooke, Willy Swendeman and Rick Swendeman).
