Two Jakes lead Summerville tracksters

SAN ANDREAS — Summerville High School's two Jakes, Heldstab and Hauselmann, led the Bears in their Mother Lode League track meet against Calaveras yesterday.

Heldstab won the 400-meter dash in 56.8 seconds, while Hauselmann set personal records in the shot put (39-5) and discus throw (118-10 1/2).

Heldstab also finished third in the 200 in 26.63.

In the frosh-soph ranks, Stephanie Graham set a school record of 15-1 1/4 while winning the girls' long jump. She also won the 100 (13.8) and the 200 (29.8).

Lauren Daniels won the 1,600 (6:24) and the 3,200 (12:50), Michelle Thomason PR'ed in the 200 (31.6) and 400 (1:13.1), and Danielle Cordero was second in the 1,600 (6:35).

For the frosh-soph boys, Phil Krieg won the high jump (4-8) and was second in the 100 (13.3) and third in the 200 (27.3); Jedd Mills won the discus (105-2 1/2); Steven Feola won the 200 (25.6); Todd Birkestrand was second in the high jump (4-8) and 300 intermediate hurdles (49.18) and was third in the 110 highs (20.6) and the triple jump (32-10); Brian James was third in the 100 (13.5); and Jeff Buller was third in the 110 highs (20.62).

Summerville's frosh-sophs compete in the Escalon Invitational tomorrow.
