Sonora High School players Bryann Turner and Joe Harris have been chosen to play in the 30th annual Lion's' Central California All-Star Football Game.
The 5-foot-6, 175-pound Turner is a running back, defensive back and kick returner, and the 6-5, 285-pound Harris is an offensive and defensive tackle. Both were all-Valley Oak League selections last fall after leading Sonora to a 6-4-1 record and a berth in the Sac-Joaquin Section Division III playoffs.
Turner plans to play collegiately at Willamette in Salem, Ore., and Harris at Reedley, which won the California junior-college championship last season.
In the Lions game, both will play for the North under coach Mike Byerly, who led Lincoln of Stockton to the Division I finals.
The game is Saturday, June 28, at 7 p.m. at the University of the Pacific's Amos Alonzo Stagg Memorial Stadium in Stockton.
