The Sonora Wildcat junior varsity girls’ basketball team thumped Turlock 44-13 Tuesday on the road.
Sonora wasted no time in grabbing control, jumping out to a 15-2 lead after the first quarter. The Cats led 28-9 at halftime, didn’t allow a third-quarter point and took a 34-9 lead into the final frame.
Kailie Fredrickson led a balanced scoring attack for Sonora with a game-high 10 points.
Also for the Wildcats, Makenna Poole scored nine points, dished four assists and made seven steals; Gabby Stewart netted six points, grabbed seven boards and made five steals; Maggie Fray scored five points; Riley Carpenter grabbed seven rebounds and blocked two shots; Riley Henington scored four points; Amanda Mena had three points and Delany Ditler and Courtney Jarvis each scored two points.
