SHS to add 15 members to Hall of Fame



    Sonora High School will induct 15 new members into the Wildcat Athletic Hall of Fame on Saturday, Nov. 5 during a ceremony at the Elks Lodge in Sonora.The class of 2011 includes 13 athletes and two coaches.


 They are: Rodney Penrose, class of 1940 (deceased), Milton “Punny” Dambacher, class of 1941, Joe Huante, class of 1942, Ralph Burford, class of 1957, Jim Teem, class of 1961, Karen Sinclair, class of 1972, Eileen Harden Mason, class of 1974, Richard Stone, class of 1972, Steve Harden, class of 1975, Kasey Dawson Fray, class of 1976, Pattie Haughy Freudenberg, class of 1976, Anne Taylor Crane, class of 1977, Kraig Clifton, class of 1992 and coaches Garth “Guffie” Eaton, and Jean Roberts Mallory, coach and honoree. The public is invited to attend the dinner ceremony for a cost of $40. Reservations must be made by Oct. 21. Checks can be made out to Sonora High School Foundation and mailed to: Rick Francis, Athletic Director, Sonora High School, 430 N. Washington St., Sonora, CA., 95370. The festivities will begin at 5 p.m. with a no-host bar. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. and the awards ceremony will begin at 7 p.m. For more information, call Francis at 532-5511 ext. 187.
