Thomas Boitano hit a home run and the Calaveras Redskins baseball team topped Amador 13-0 on Wednesday in Sutter Creek.
Redskins pitcher Wyatt Durham went the distance and struck out seven as Calaveras had an error-free game.
The Redskins tacked on three runs in the first, two in the second, three in the sixth and five in the seventh to complete the shutout victory.
Boitano and Malachi Stockdale both drove in three runs. Stockdale and Mike Seawell each went 3 of 4. Boitano, Blake Patrick and Travis Moore all had a hit. Jason Kennedy, Paco Guerrero, Patrick and Trace Durham all had an RBI.
Calaveras (6-5 MLL) returns home to host Linden on Friday at 4 p.m. in San Andreas.
Softball Skins shutout Amador
The Calaveras softball team shut out Amador in a 10-0 Mother Lode League win on Wednesday in Sutter Creek.
The Redskins scored two in the first, three in the second and five in the sixth to force the 10-run mercy rule in sixth innings.
Calaveras pounded 12 hits and the Redskins pitching staff of Kayla Kappmeyer, Jennifer Scantlen and Megan Walters combined to allow only one hit.
Kappmeyer struck out three and walked one, while Walters fired two innings and finished with five strikeouts.
At the plate, Walters drove in four runs on 2 of 3 hitting. The senior also smashed a triple. Leanna Smith and Marissa Hukkanen both had two hits. Grace Carr, Kappmeyer, Scantlen, Celena Torales and Katelyn Leatherman all recorded a hit. Carr and Torales drove in two runs each and Leatherman had one.
Calaveras (8-2 MLL) heads to the Nor Cal Tournament today in Tracy.
