Masters churning it up |
Susan White and Dave Harmer of the TCA-Fitness Masters are churning it up in both open-water and pool swims. White, competing in the women's 60-64 age group, finished second in a two-mile event at Lake Sonoma (1:06:24), while Harmer, in the men's 50-55 group, finished eighth (58:20). The race was held in 71-degree water. In the Pacific Masters Long-Course Championships, White swam a personal best by more than four seconds in the metric mile free (29:32.25) at the University of California at Santa Cruz. She won the 60-64 group in that event, and finished fourth in the 400 free (7:37.73). Coming up for the Masters is their third annual open-water swim at Pinecrest Lake in mid-August. The swim actually is for all ages, with organizers looking for more participants in the 13-18 age range this year. |
