Sagen Maddalena won the High Power match heldat the Mother Lode Gun Club in Jamestown.
The Groveland shooter recorded a 491-17X out of 500 to hold off Morgan Owen, of Sonora, who shot a 490-13X. Owen took first Master and High junior.
Lane Ichord, of Waterford, was second Master with 488-10X, while Conar Braly, of Copperopolis, took third shooting a 487-10X. Braly also had the high rapid prone score with 100-5X.
First Expert went to Brian Schmidt, of Sonora, shooting a 472-6X with Mike Brommer, of Turlock, taking second with a 469-4X.
Murray Moore, of Twain Harte, won first Sharpshooter shooting a 476-6X moving up to the Expert class the next match.
Rich Abalos, of Sonora, won first Marksman, shooting a 433-2X. Tyler Buck, of Jamestown, came in second place shooting a 420-1X and was followed by Bob Ruehle, of Modesto, in third with a 414-2X.
Marty Mayo, of Jamestown, was High Grand Senior shooting a 489-17X and being the high rapid sitting with a 100-4. Maddalena was High Offhand and slow prone for the day with a 98-4X and 198-11X, respectively.
The next club match will be onand will be considered part of the Dean Alley Memorial Trophy aggregate.
, is the California State High Power 100-Yard Championship in Jamestown with separate awards for the Championship and two-day aggregate.
All registered participants will be entered in a special drawingto win a Howa Model 1500 stainless steel .308 rifle with a Houge stock valued at $700. There will be a tri-tip and chicken barbecue after the match for all competitors. Guests will be charged $10 each.
A commemorative pin and T-shirt are also included in the match fees. Friday’s club match is $10 for adults and $5 for juniors. Saturday’s Championship match, T-shirt, barbecue and rifle drawing is $50 for adults and $10 for juniors.
