Lattin lives up to league name; bowls 91 pins over his average |
By RUTH ABREO For The Union Democrat CJ Lattin lived up to his league name (High Rollers) for this report with the high game for men. Lattin rolled a 279, which just happened to be a whopping 91 pins over his already high 188 average. The high series for men was owned by Robert Porovich (Jokers Wild) who rolled a 692, which edged out Lattin by 10 pins. The high game and series for women both come from the High Rollers league as well. Kelly Thalman rolled the high game (219) while leaguemate Barbara Newman rolled the high series (544). Also having no trouble with the lanes or the delivery of their ball was: Jim Simmons with a 269, Mike Hutchins with a 253 and Anthony Chastain with a 650 series (all from High Rollers); Jim Simmons with a 256 in Young at Heart and in Jokers Wild, it was Lattin who added a 253. League Champions have been declared in the following leagues: Team Rez (Jason Hendricks, Kevin Moyle, Tom Hendricks) won the High Rollers league; Summer Morning Rollers had Hardscapes 101 (Mary Wilcox, Sharon McThorn and Joann Autler) taking away the trophy; Young at Heart had Angels Harte (Billie and Leo Fogg and Sue and Danny Laureta) on top; and in Jokers Wild it was SAMM (John Glick, Dave Hylton, Robert Porovich, Brian Basacker and team-sub Shanee Robinson) with the honors by just a half game over Da Sandbaggers.
