Keefe first female to win All-Area Most Valuable Player in two sports

Sonora’s Kelli Keefe is the first female athlete to ever win All-Area Most Valuable Player honors in two sports.
Besides her 2011 softball Co-MVP honors, Keefe was the girls’ basketball 2010 All-Area Most Valuable Player.
“Since Kelli was around 11-years old, she’s probably been the best female athlete in our area — every year, in her age group,” said Bret Harte softball head coach Heath Lane. “In all three sports she’s played — volleyball, basketball and softball — she has excelled. I’m so impressed with her, and I’m glad she’s choosing to play softball in college.”
The first athlete to capture MVP honors in two sports was Summerville’s Zach Roberson (class of 2011) who captured the prestigious prize in both basketball (2011) and football (2008 and 2009).
