Crump’s last second shot lifts Jumpers

Jarron Crump canned a 12-foot floater with 2.7 seconds left Thursday to lift the Columbia Claim Jumpers to a 77-75 victory over Napa Valley in the first round of the Cosumnes River basketball tournament in Elk Grove.

The game was close throughout with neither team leading by more than six points.

The game was tied 41-41 at halftime.

For Columbia (3-4), who has won two straight, Ashton Richardson scored a team-high 17 points and also grabbed 10 rebounds, Thomas Richardson scored 13 points and grabbed five boards, Danny Radford scored 13 points, including a pair of treys, and grabbed four boards, Crump scored 10 points, including a pair of 3-pointers, and also dished 10 assists and Matt Ruesga added eight points.

Columbia will play the tournament host, Cosumnes River, today at 5 p.m. The winner will play for the championship.
