COLUMBIA VOLLEYERS HAVE 10 'HOMERS'

Ten home matches highlight the 2003 Columbia College volleyball schedule, which was announced today.

After opening with a scrimmage at Pacific Union College in Angwin (northeast of Santa Rosa) on Sept. 1, the Claim Jumpers welcome Hartnell of Salinas for a non-conference match Sept. 5.

Their other home dates are Sept. 19 against Sequoias of Visalia, Sept. 26 against an an alumni team, Oct. 1 against West Hills of Coalinga, Oct. 10 against Modesto, Oct. 17 against Taft, Oct. 22 against Porterville, Oct. 29 against Merced, Nov. 7 against Reedley, and Nov. 14 against Fresno.

All but the alumni match are in the Central Valley Conference. The West Hills and Taft matches begin at 5 p.m. and the others at 7 p.m. at Oak Pavilion.

The lone tournament appearance for third-year coach Raelene Juarez's Claim Jumpers will be at Mendocino College in Mendocino on Sept. 13. Their conference opener is Sept. 17 at Porterville.
