Emaline Ellsworth fired an 85 to lead the Bret Harte Bullfrogs to a third-place finish on Monday in the Division V Golf Tournament held at Stevinson Ranch.
Ellsworth’s score was the fifth lowest on the day. The lowest score was a 3-over par 75.
As a team, the Bullfrogs shot a 537. West Campus won the tournament with a 497 and was followed by Capital Christian at 513.
“I thought our kids really battled,” said Bullfrog head coach Rich Cathcart. “The two teams above us shot some really low scores. They played well. Going into the tournament, I thought we had a chance but it wasn’t our day. We’ve got a great group of girls and I can’t wait until next year.”
Also for the Bullfrogs, Melissa Spence shot a 103, Morgan Taylor, Bret Harte’s lone senior, shot a 112, Jaymie Heryford carded a 112 and Rilee Hillman shot a 125.
