Basacker returns to perfect, 19 years later

By RUTH ABREO

For The Union Democrat

It took Brian Basacker 19 years to repeat a bowling goal.

The Jokers Wild league member rolled his first 300 game on March 19 since 1995.

His perfect game was 105 pins over his average.

Not far behind Basacker, was Dave Rossi (Black Oak Seniors), who rolled a strike, then a spare and then 11 more strikes for a 280 game and 62 pins over his average.

Rossi (Young at Heart) owned the high series with a 744 and Basacker had the only other 700 – a 719.

Lynn Porovich (Monday Nevada) rolled the both women’s high game and series with a 224/639.  She edged out Alicia Filiberti (High Rollers) by just one pin for high-game honors.

Ada Hill (Young at Heart) bowled an infrequent all-spare game of 173 on March 26.  She’s a southpaw and it was not an easy spare game. In one frame, she had to pick up not one or two pins, but seven. She said that this is the first time she has ever rolled an all-spare game.
