Aubry, Sisco pace softball victory

Summerville High School wrapped up its 2003 softball season yesterday with a 5-0 victory over Amador at Standard Park.

The Bears (7-16, 5-10 MLL) closed with a rush, winning four of their last five games.

"We didn't play particularly well, but it was a nice way to end the season," Summerville coach Ben Watson said.

Sophomore Jessica Aubrey pitched a two-hit gem in the finale, striking out 10 and walking two.

She also drove in Summerville's final run with a sacrifice fly in a four-run fifth-inning rally.

The Bears took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second on a walk by Liz McLoughlin, a sacrifice bunt by Courtney Buljan and a single by Holly Sisco.

Summerville iced the game in the fifth on a double by Kelsey Wingo, a sacrifice, two Amador errors, another run-producing single by Sisco, and Aubrey's run-scoring flyout.

Summerville outscored Amador 25-1 in sweeping the three-game season series from the Buffaloes (3-18, 0-15).

The game was made up yesterday after being rained out last Thursday.
