The accolades keep rolling in for UC Davis receiver Michael Oliva, who today was named a third-team Little All-American by The Associated Press.
Oliva, a senior wideout from Summerville High School, holds Davis records for single-season receptions (75), receiving yards (1,365) and touchdowns (13) and career marks for yards (3,379) and TDs (37).
Before receiving the Little All-America honor, Oliva was named to the NCAA Division II all-Western Region team and was one of nine national finalists for the Harlon Hill Award, the Division II equivalent of the Heisman Trophy.
He helped Davis reach the Division II quarterfinals and finish with a record of 9-3. In his junior year, Oliva set a Division II playoff record with 233 receiving yards in a victory over Texas A&M-Kingsville, the same team that eliminated the Aggies this year.
Oliva's collegiate career will continue in a pair of all-star games, the Cactus Bowl for Division II players Jan. 10 in good ol' Kingsville, Texas, and the Paradise Bowl for Divisions I-AA and II on Jan. 25 in St. George, Utah.
