Three former Sonora Wildcat gridiron standouts were named to the All-Time Lions All-Star Football teamin celebration of the game’s 40th anniversary.
Wildcat brothers Josh Parry and Neil Parry and Brad Vassar are three of the 38 total players named to the All-Time team for the North squad.
Edison and Tracy led the North with seven players each followed by Lincoln (5), Franklin (4) and Sonora, St. Mary’s and Stagg with three each.
Vassar earned his spot at linebacker by playing in the second-ever Lions game in 1975. Josh Parry, who became a force at fullback with the Philadelphia Eagles where he helped win a Super Bowl, was named to the team as a linebacker for the 1996 squad. His brother Neil, shined in 1998 as a defensive back.
The Lions All-Time team was originally released for the 35th clash between the graduating Sac-Joaquin Section high school seniors with all three Wildcats earning a spot.
In the five years since, three players have been added — NFL players Trumaine Johnson from Edison, Amini Silatolu from West and current Fresno State standout Cody Wichmann of Mariposa.
Johnson played in the 35th game for the North and was MVP. He is now a member of the St. Louis Rams. Silatolu played in the 34th game for the North and is now a member of the Carolina Panthers. Wichmann was the defensive MVP and also played tight end for the South in 2010 at 6-5, 280 pounds. He’s now listed at 6-6, 320 at Fresno State.
This years game, which will be held at Modesto Junior College at, will feature three Wildcats — Brandon Camara, Walter Leyva and Jessey Ahrenholtz — three Calaveras Redskins — Zack Johnson, Joe Elliott and Brian Golston and Summerville Bear Darren Vallelunga.

And the boss will have to communicate clearly with his quarterbacks, both carry the same name. Johnson guided the Redskins while Zack Johnson was the signal caller at Kimball.
