Thanking unsung Rim Fire heroes
To the Editor:
A shout out of huge thanks to the amazing time and effort from some of the unsung heroes of the Rim Fire.
Specifically, Tuolumne County Animal Control in Jamestown for housing my cat, as well as literally hundreds of other dogs, cats and other pets of residents like me in harm’s way of the Rim Fire. Also, Animal Control’s coordinated efforts to connect me to people like Tom Champlin and other volunteers of the Sheriff’s Posse to evacuate my donkeys/goats (no easy effort!).
Also to ranch owners like Paula and Kevin Schofield of Greeley Hill to offer themselves as a host ranch to provide emergency safe refuge to a complete stranger like me for my animals.
It’s the hard work, compassion and kindness of locals like these that are equally heroic to the firefighting efforts to get us all through these tough times!
Thank you all!
