Grateful for Sonora's generosity
To the Editor:
I would like to write a letter of thanks. My name is Jacob Nelson and I have been blessed by a group of girls that put on fundraisers for me in Sonora. I was injured in an accident Aug 12, 2012 in Wyoming where I live now. I was born and raised in Sonora. My dear cousins and friends have worked tirelessly to raise money for my medical bill. A “Junk for Jake” yard sale, and a “Steaks for Jake” dinner with an auction. Along with many injuries I broke my back at T-12. I am now a paraplegic and in a wheelchair. The medical bills are astounding. I left Craig Rehabilitation Hospital in Denver, Colo. Thursday Nov. 29, 2012. It has been a long road that was made easier by the support of these girls lifting me up. Davette Dambacher, Jessica Williams, Jennifer Durkee, Malissa Durkee, Sheena Landman, and Nicole Jonas. All those that donated to and worked to put on these events. Last but not least, all the people that helped me through on “prayers for Jake” There is no way to express my gratitude except to put my heart, soul, and grit in my recovery. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
