Time for change
To the editor:
An open letter to Mike Malloy:
I thought we were done with you. After losing your case with Lisa Rico, you didn't show up to board meetings for months. Then you just strut right in and take a seat like nothing happened.
Now you want the school district to pay for your legal fees, not only for the suit restraining you from being near Mike King, but also for your legal fees regarding Lisa Rico. Shame on you!
Is this the best thing for our struggling school district? I thought you ran for the school board to help our district. That is why I supported you. My mistake, for which I have already apologized publicly.
The best thing you can do for our school district now is to fade away gracefully. Accept that you made some grievous mistakes, and go about your life. Move on! Don't suck our district dry with more and more legal fees. The issues that got you in the legal mess you are in are not going to go away.
The majority of the community and of the board have shown the direction it wants our district to go — and you and your cohorts have other ideas.
All you will do is bog down board meetings and cause more and more dissent in the district. We are already the laughing stock of the county. Let us move forward.
A new principal at Tenaya, a new principal-superintendent at Tioga and a new charter school at Don Pedro — forward motion.
Time for change. Give them a chance to show what they can do without having to deal with your issues that should be over and done with.
