Plow, sand the roads
As I see it, the county really only has three areas it should focus on: law enforcement, fire, and roads. Now, taking this into consideration, I would say they do OK on the first two while failing completely on the roads issue. This week we had snow — imagine that, a mountain community with snow. Monday Morning there was no plow service for Crystal Falls Drive, no sanding of Phoenix Lake Road, and, as usual there were many wrecks. This happens every storm, every year, Tuesday, Parrotts Ferry road was a sheet of ice, and, here it is Wednesday and I still cannot get up Fuller Road in Twain Harte to drop my daughters off with their mother.
Why? Well, because no one has sanded the roads. I do not blame the folks that work for the Road Department, I do blame the incompetence of the leaders of the Road Department and our useless supervisors, who are more interested in what they can spend on a justice center and a juvenile hall then the safety of the citizens that elected them.
Folks, I could do this job right the first time without training. Why do you fail at it every year?
