Right-wing and
left-wing barrels

To the Editor,

Re: Mr. Hofacker Letter

You should not group all of us conserative-right winger’s who are Christian’s in one barrel.

As much as I dislike Obama, I would not put out something insulting in my front yard. Obama has brought this country to it’s knee’s but the Democrat’s want to blame Republican’s and the Tea Party for everything. Obama will not take the responsibility or will the Democrat’s.

They have had a long time to do something and refuse to do it. President Bush had a Democratic House and Senate. America has lost it way the last 3 1/2 yrs.

I believe we are headed for a depression, not a recession. I have been around for a long time and I never thought I would see an Adminstration like this one that is in the White House. Don’t judge all people by one person. You were right about God helping us. If Obama get’s voted in again, thing’s will get a lot worse.

State Assembly
District 5 race

To the Editor,

Speaking “as a private citizen, privately,” I find myself courted by both run-off candidates seeking my support as a resource for their race in the Mother Lode State Assembly contest that will be voted upon this November.

This appears to be an outgrowth of their own hopes that I may play a role that enables each to secure the nomination respectively — through my own participation and help. Consequently, not privy to the details and particulars held by the Republican Political Party Establishment, and being a Democrat for most of my adult life; I have decided it best to withdraw my further public role as an active factor engaged in the candidacy of either candidate.

One is a personal family friend, and the other had allied with several of the positions I advocated this last spring.

But largely because of their demonstrated interest and independent inquiry, this now creates an impossible stand where I cannot possibly please both.

Therefore I intend to play only a private role with respect to their fall campaign; though remaining available to act as a confidential resource to either of them —  should they ask.

If either of them continue to approach me for help in their respective contests, I would welcome the opportunity to be that resource, but will take neither favors nor money in this regard. As a result, I urge my fellow citizens of the district who will vote to render their own decision based upon the caliber of moral, ethical and political standard each shows during the coming contest. Noting this may make a unique and strange contest, even stranger — so be it.

Waiting for the
economic recovery

To the Editor,

At last,  Trickle Down.” Thank God for the enormous profits earned by the CEO’s of our major corporations and the oil speculators. You know, those 1 percenters holding 90 percent of the country’s wealth. I’m confident it will only be weeks before they commence spending those profits, spreading the wealth — and we will see a significant turnaround in our economy, and the sufferings of the rest of us will finally be at an end.

Of course I’ve only been waiting since 1981, but as they say, patience is a virtue.

First responders
as good as they get

To the Editor,

I would like to publicly express my sincere heartfelt gratitude to the Twain Harte Fire Dept, Tuolumne County ambulance, the air medivac service and especially, Autumn, the trauma nurse at Modesto Memorial Hospital.

After falling through a remodel project and landing 12 feet below in my basement with my noggin busted open, the response and care I received was flawless, especially the fast, competent, thorough and professional treatment at Modesto Memorial.

I regret because I was in and out of consciousness I cannot remember specific names, but these guys (gals) were as good as they get, a level other emergency service agencies can aspire to.
