Anthony Joseph Costanzo

April 9, 1945 — Sept. 3, 2003

Former longtime resident of Jamestown Anthony Joseph Costanzo died Sept. 3 at his home after a long illness. He was 58.

He was born in France, and had lived in Jamestown for nearly 20 years before moving to Stockton in 1995. He was a career truck driver.

His family said he loved bass fishing and won many awards, trophies and prizes. He enjoyed bass fishing while living in Stockton, his family added, and he liked taking his son, Anthony, fishing as often as he could.

His family said he was a devoted husband to Marsha for more than 36 years.

Mr. Costanzo is survived by his wife, Marsha Costanzo of Stockton; son and daughter-in-law Anthony and Marcie Costanzo of Fairfield; his father, Gerald Costanzo of New York; brothers Richard and Donald Costanzo, both of Reno, Nev.; sister-in-law Joanne Costanzo of Reno, Nev.; four grandchildren, Lorissa, Gina, Anna and Joseph Costanzo, all of Fairfield; and numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother in 2001.

Services were held.

Donations can be made to Visiting Nurse Association & Hospice of the Sierra, P.O. Box 4805, Sonora, CA 95370.

Cherokee Memorial Park and Funeral Home in Lodi handled arrangements.

Aug. 20, 1914 — Sept. 8, 2003

Dorothy M. Douglas of San Andreas died Monday at a San Andreas hospital. She was 89.

She was born in Iowa, and lived in San Andreas for eight years, having moved from Redlands. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her son, Bill Douglas of Las Vegas; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Douglas, in 1998.

Private family services will be held at a later date.

Angels Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.


BOWMAN — Kenneth Eugene Bowman, 42, of Altaville died unexpectedly Aug. 30 at a Modesto hospital. A celebration of life is scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at Utica Park in Angels Camp. Angels Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.

POMEROY — Eileen Pomeroy, 85, of Sonora died this morning at a Sonora care home. Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

ELSWORTH — Grethal Elsworth, 85, of Sonora died this morning at a Sonora hospital. Heuton Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.
