Nadine Ann Carne
April 7, 1933 — Sept. 2, 2011

    Tuolumne County native Nadine Ann Carne died Friday at her home in Soulsbyville. She was 78.
    Born in Sonora to Walter and Barbara Kress, she was a descendant of two Tuolumne County pioneer families.
    In 1948 she married Ernest Oliver Carne, who was also a descendant of two pioneer families. The couple owned and operated Ernie Carne Logging for more than 35 years and was active in organizations and activities concerned about maintaining the area’s forest.
    She lived in Soulsbyville for 60 years and was a member of the Country Cowboy Church.
    She enjoyed traveling and camping in Kennedy Meadows.
    Mrs. Carne is survived by her children and their spouses, James and Peggy Carne, and Linda and David Townsend, all of Soulsbyville, and John and Vicki Carne, of Atwater; grandchildren and their spouses, Sheila DeRocher, of James-town, Connie and Kevin Carne, both of Soulsbyville, Brenda and Doug Comer, of Columbia, Melissa Carne, of Tuolumne, Kimberly and Chris Perez, of Modesto, Matt and Kelli Carne, of Turlock, Brian and Casey Townsend, of Sonora, Trever and Kari Townsend, of Heber City, Utah, and Rick and Amy Dorrity, both of Atwater; and 21 great-grandchildren.
    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Ernest Carne; and sister, Barbara Partridge.
    A service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at the Country Cowboy Church, 14888 Peaceful Valley Road, East Sonora.
    In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Country Cowboy Church, 14888 Peaceful Valley Road, Sonora, CA 95370.
    Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

    TURNEY — Braden Turney, 78, of Groveland, died Sunday at Kaiser Hospital in Modesto. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at noon today at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Big Oak Flat, to be followed by a reception. A graveside service will be held at the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Hayward. Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
    STOFLE — Robert Frances Stofle, 94, of Groveland, died Saturday at Meadow View Manor in Sonora. Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
