Sonora resident Dolores Hall died Wednesday at her home. She was 76.
Born in Pine Island, Minn., to John and Dora Friary, the family later moved to Tuolumne in the 1940s and she graduated from Summerville High School in 1953.
She married Charles Connitt in 1954. The couple had four children together. They would later divorce.
She married Harry “Tom” Hall in 1983.
She worked for Columbia College for 26 years, retiring as the bookstore manager. She also worked at the Sonora Community Hospital for 10 years.
She enjoyed knitting, gardening, playing cards, taking care of her pets, reading and was a member of a book club.
Mrs. Hall is survived by her husband, Harry “Tom” Hall, of Sonora; children and their spouses, Terry and Cindy Connitt, of W. Sacramento, Patricia Connitt and Richard Williams, of Benicia, Kathy Connitt and Darrell Golwitzer, of Vacaville, and Shirley Connitt and Stuart Holt, of Oregon; stepchildren and their spouses, Lizann Hall Cox and Tommy and Julie Hall, all of Texas, and Richard and Julie Hall, of Sonora; siblings and their spouses, Pat Buck, of Tuolumne, and Jan and Ron Columbani, of Sonora; grandchildren and their spouses, Joshua and Kristin Turnes, of Henderson, Nev., Michaela and Bryant Odum, of Vacaville, Beverly and Valerie Williams, both of Benicia, Jeff and Catherine Williams, of Vallejo, Clayton Connitt and Amber and Travis Templeman, all of Sacramento, Samantha Holt, of California, Andrew Cox, of Georgia, Keely Needham, of Madera, Kristen Hall, of Sonora, and Bobby Cox and Tommy and Taylor Hall, all of Texas; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, John Friary.
A celebration of life is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday at the Sonora Elks Lodge.
Inurnment will be private.
Donations can be made to a favorite charity.
