Robin Russell Disbrow

Groveland resident Robin Russell Disbrow died Sept. 29 at Sonora Regional Medical Center. He was 88.
Mr. Disbrow was born in Ronan, Mont.
He was drafted in 1943 and served with the Army Air Forces 98th Bomb Squadron based in Lecce, Italy during World War II. He flew more than 50 missions as a flight engineer on B-24 Liberator planes.
He worked at a truck driver for Pacific Motor Trucking in Modesto for more than 40 years. He retired to Groveland 25 years ago.
Mr. Disbrow enjoyed hunting, fishing, horses, camping and square dancing. He was also a storyteller, said his family.
Mr. Disbrow was preceded in death by his first wife, Melvina Disbrow, in 1979.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Roberta Disbrow, of Modesto; his children and their spouses, Kathleen and Dennis Bauman, of Spokane, Wash., Diana and Brent Riggs, of Ogden, Utah, and Robin Atkin, of Fresno; his step-children and their spouses, Tamara Meadows, of Modesto, David and Nicole Meadows, of Eureka, and Brenda and Nick Mercier, of Austin, Texas; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
No services are planned.

Tuolumne resident Bonnie Harris died Monday at Oak Terrace Memory Care in Soulsbyville. She was 91.
Mrs. Harris was born in Oakland. She settled in Tuolumne County with her family 55 years ago.
She worked as a healthcare professional for 60 years until retirement. She worked as a registered nurse for a number of years. After moving to the county, she worked as a utilization review nurse for Sonora Community and Tuolumne General hospitals.
She enjoyed reading, gardening and traveling.
Mrs. Harris was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Walter Harris, in August.
She is survived by her children, Barbara Harris, of Sonora, Walter Harris Jr., of Pittsburgh, Penn., and Kathy Chase, of Sonora; and three grandchildren.
Donations in her name may be made to Hospice of the Sierra, 20100 Cedar Road North, Sonora, CA 95370.
Services will he held at a later date.

Eva F. Hensley
April 25, 1926 — Oct. 9, 2012
San Andreas resident Eva F. Hensley died Tuesday at her home. She was 86.
Mrs. Hensley was born in Kennedy Flat, now part of Jackson.
Her family moved to Calaveras County while she an infant.
She graduated from Calaveras High School in the early 1940s.
She worked at Kelly’s Drug Store in San Andreas after graduating from high school. She later owned and operated the Wilseyville General Store in San Andreas from 1947 to the early 1960s. She also helped her husband, Joe Hensley, run his refrigeration business in San Andreas until their retirement in 1989.
After their retirement, the Hensleys lived in Maui, Hawaii for 13 years before returning to Calaveras County in 2002 after the births of their great-grandchildren.
She was a former member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Mokelumne Hill.
Mrs. Hensley was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Hensley, in 2010; and her grandson, Jason Morrill, in February.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandy Morrill, of Mokelumne Hill; her grandson, Joseph Morrill, of Martinez; and her granddaughter, Jenessa Morrill, of Mokelumne Hill.
Private family services will be held at a later date.

CROSS — Ira Cross, 94, of Sonora, died Thursday at Avalon Care Center of Sonora. Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
