Lina Jane (Hallowell) Fausette

Groveland resident Lina Jane (Hallowell) Fausette died Saturday at Avalon Care Center. She was 87.
Mrs. Fausette was born in Tulsa, Okla., the daughter of Roy and Ruby Hallowell.
She moved to Groveland in the 1940s. Her family owned and operated the Hallowell Saw Mill at Bowers Cave. She ran a boarding house for the mill workers and handled payroll for the business. She also worked as an elementary school bus driver in Groveland.
Mrs. Fausette was a founding member of Buck Meadows Community Church, which her family built.
Mrs. Fausette was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Cecil R. Fausette Sr., in 1987; son, Bill John Nagy, in 1987; and brothers, David O. Hallowell and Bill R. Hallowell.
She is survived by her children, Cecil Fausette Jr., of Merced, and Lona J. Eckles, of Groveland; her grandchildren, Jennifer Ring, of Cloverdale, Amber Lloyd, of Groveland, Terra Klein, of Groveland, Jessica Holden, of Groveland, Daniel Fausette, of Oregon, Gabe Fausette, of Oregon, and Renee Fausette, of Merced; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Donations in her memory can be made to Buck Meadows Community Church, 11492 Buck Meadows Road, Groveland CA 95321.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Oak Grove Cemetery in Groveland.

Erma Maxine (Wilson)

Sonora resident Erma Maxine (Wilson) Markusen died Oct. 22 at Avalon Care Center. She was 92.
Mrs. Markusen was born in Stone County, Mo., the daughter of Leonard and Arvila Wilson.
She moved to Long Barn in 1950 and worked as a waitress at the Long Barn Lodge for 18 years until 1968.
She enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her grandchildren.
Mrs. Markusen was preceded in death by her husband, Toby Markusen, in 1987; and son, Toby Markusen Jr., in 1968.
She is survived by her daughter, Krista Allen, of Quincy, Wash.; grandchildren, Kate LaPoint and John Allen, both of Washington; and three great-grandchildren.
A burial was held at Mountain Shadow Cemetery in Sonora.
Heuton Memorial Chapel handled arrangements.
CHATFIELD — Jake Chatfield, 41, of San Andreas, died Friday at his home. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mokelumne Hill Park in Mokelumne Hill. San Andreas Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.
