Carolyn Bauhr
Feb. 12, 1956 — Oct. 17, 2011

    La Grange resident Carolyn Bauhr died Oct. 17 at her home. She was 55.
    Born in Whittier to Floyd and Vida Euing, she was a professional horse trainer, and lived in La Grange for 20 years.
    She was an active member of the Christian Heights Church in Sonora.
    Mrs. Bauhr is survived by her husband of 28 years, Steve Bauhr, of La Grange.
    A service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at the Christian Heights Church, 13711 Joshua Way, Sonora.
    Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Alexander Bryce McMaster
Sept. 27, 1933 — Oct. 20, 2011

    Valley Springs resident Alexander Bryce McMaster died Thursday at his home. He was 78.
    Born in Chicago to Agnes Bowman and Alexander McMaster, he served in the U.S. Marine Corp. from 1951 to 1954.
    He was a truck driver in Castro Valley for 38 years and lived in Valley Springs for 25 years.
    Mr. McMaster is survived by his wife Rebecca McMaster, of Valley Springs; children, Greg McMaster, of Manteca, and Karen Banks, of Vallejo; siblings, Robert McMaster, and Maureen Karn, both of Los Angeles, Mike McMaster, of Lancaster, and Melinda McMaster, of San Diego; daughter-in-law, Liz McMaster, of Castro Valley; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jeff McMaster.
    Visitation is scheduled from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the San Andreas Memorial Chapel.
    A funeral service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday at the San Andreas Memorial Chapel, to be followed by a burial service at 1:30 p.m. at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery.
    San Andreas Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.

Deniece Marcel Maxwell
April 15, 1959 — Oct. 20, 2011

    Sonora resident Deniece Marcel Maxwell died Thursday at Doctors Hospital in Modesto. She was 52.
    Born in Newport Beach to Mary Francis Short and Hallard Maxwell, she worked as a nurse’s aide in San Jose for a number of years.
    She lived in Sonora for six years.
    She enjoyed reading, drawing, nature, animals, working in her garden, going to the ocean, camping and hiking.
    She is survived by her companion of 17 years, Aileen Geurin, of Sonora; children, Steve and Benjamin Marler, of Washington; stepson, David Geurin, of Sonora; father and stepmother, Hallard F. and Lilia Maxwell, of Copperopolis; and six grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Marler; mother, Mary Francis Short; stepmother, Betty Maxwell; siblings, Larry Maxwell and Mary Zingaro; and grandparents, Ann and Larry Maxwell.
    A memorial service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday at Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home. A reception will be held at the Quail Hollow Apartment Office following the service.
    Donations can be made to the American Diabetes Associations, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.

Donald Breton
Sept. 15, 1951 — Oct. 18, 2011

    Greeley Hill resident Donald Breton died Oct. 18 at his home. He was 60.
    Born in Orange County to Donald and Ruth Breton, he served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
    He worked as a carpenter in residential construction for 35 years and lived in Greeley Hill for 33 years.
    He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and E Clampus Vitus. He enjoyed being outdoors.
    Mr. Breton is survived by his wife, Lynn Breton, of Greeley Hill; children, Donna Breton, of Sonora, and Derrick Breton, of Rocklin; stepchildren, Nathan Elsberry, of Modesto, and Mike, Chris, and Kevin Elsberry, all of Greeley Hill; siblings, Doug Breton, of Greeley Hill, and Karen Proehl, of Nampa, Idaho; and grandchildren, Scarlet and Santiago Breton, both of Rocklin.
    A celebration of life has already been held at the Wildwood Chapel in Greeley Hill.
    Heuton Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.
