Cedar Ridge resident Clarence Myers died Sunday at his son’s home in Ripon. He was 82.
Born in Tracy to Jesse C. Myers and Edith M. Olson, he served in the U.S. Army from 1950 to 1952 and fought in the Korean War.
He was a fireman in Tracy from 1953 to 1960 and worked for the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory from 1960 to 1978. He went on to retire as an assistant fire chief.
He lived in Cedar Ridge for 32 years.
He enjoyed working on his truck, camping, and was a San Francisco 49ers fan. His nickname was Mops.
He was a campground host for the Oregon State Parks for six years.
Mr. Myers is survived by his wife of 58 years, Pat Myers, of Cedar Ridge; children, Patti Myers, of Folsom, and Rich and wife Audrey Myers, of Ripon; grandchildren, David, Kaci and Erika Myers, all of Modesto, and Lisa and Julie Mills, both of Ripon; and one great-grandson.
A chapel service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 S. Central Ave., Tracy.

Genevieve Griewing, of Tuolumne, died Monday at Sonora Regional Medical Center. She was 89.
Born in Greencreek, Idaho, to Francis X. and Marguerite Schwartz, she worked as a registered nurse for more than 30 years and lived in Tuolumne for 39 years.
She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Tuolumne. She enjoyed gardening and volunteering at Interfaith Community Social Services.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Laurence and Linda Griewing, of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, Ronald Griewing, of Tuolumne, Clyde and Karen Griewing, and James and Isabelle Griewing, all of San Jose, and Miriam and Gary Buchholz, and Janel Griewing, all of Bend, Ore.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Clyde Griewing; and 10 siblings.
A funeral Mass is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Tuolumne.

MARINOVICH — Phyllis Joleen Marinovich, 81, of Sonora, died Sept. 22 at Mercy Medical Center in Merced. A celebration of life is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Springfield Trout Farm, 21980 Springfield Road, Columbia. Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home handled arrangements.
WILDES — Hazel Wildes, 91, of Sonora, died Wednesday at Sonora Regional Medical Center. Heuton Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.
