James Robert
‘Jim’ Moore

Aug. 25, 1946 — Sept. 27, 2013

Twain Harte resident James Robert “Jim” Moore died Sept. 27 at Sonora Regional Medical Center. He was 67.

Mr. Moore was born in Long Beach and served in the U.S. Navy, retiring as a chief petty officer. After the Navy, Mr. Moore worked as a computer technician. 

He enjoyed collecting rocks, playing golf and gold panning. He lived in Twain Harte for seven years.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lenora Frances Moore, in 2000; and his father, James William Moore, in 1986.

Mr. Moore is survived by his wife of 16 years, Carolyn Wanda Moore, of Twain Harte; children, Robert Alan Moore, Amy Frances Moore, Kristine Yoko Howard, Dale Clinton Pankey and Todd Martin Pankey; his son-in-law, Adam Mathew Howard; his daughter-in-law, Jeanette Marie Pankey; grandchildren, Alex James Moore, Sophie Alexis Moore, Makenna Grace Howard and Kinsley James Howard, Gage Aaron Pankey and Ashton Garrett Pankey. 

No services are planned. 

Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home is handling arrangements. 

George Delbert Taufer

March 10, 1944 — Oct. 6, 2013

Copperopolis resident George Delbert Taufer died Oct. 6 at his home. He was 69.

Mr. Taufer was a teacher and coach for more than 35 years at Hopkins Jr. High School in Fremont. He enjoyed spending time with his family. He also enjoyed helping church members and volunteering with the Red Cross to help hurricane victims.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Margaret Eileen Taufer, of Copperopolis; his sons, Randy and Scott Nordvik; his grandchildren, Renee Nordvik, Ashley Lee, Kaylynn Lee, Peyton Snyder, Colton Nordvik, Kylie Nordvik, Cody Nordvik, Wyatt Nordvik and Kassidy Nordvik; and one great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his son, Brad Nordvik; and an adopted daughter, Jenny VanWinkle. 

A memorial service is planned for noon Oct. 21, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Murphys. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, 207 E. Alpine Ave., Stockton, CA 95204.

Angels Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.

STEVENSON — Patricia Stevenson, age unknown, of Pine Mountain Lake, died Tuesday at her home. Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
