Loutie Earl     Kirkpatrick Adams

July 29, 1917 — Nov. 11, 2012

Angels Camp resident Loutie Earl Kirkpatrick Adams died Sunday at Sonora Regional Medical Center. She was 95.

Mrs. Adams was born in Texas and settled in Calaveras County 10 years ago to be closer to family.

She was a porcelain artist for 75 years and belonged to several painting groups. She and her husband enjoyed traveling across the United States with a trailer group when they were younger. 

Mrs. Adams was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Adams; and her son, Jerry Adams.

She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Olson; daughter-in-law, Connie Adams; her grandchildren and their spouses, Dan Adams, Kelly and Tim Miller, and Tim and Tonya Adams; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. 

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Angels Memorial Chapel. Interment will be at Oakmont Memorial Park in Lafayette.

Angels Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.

Albert J. ‘Red’ Schoonover

Feb. 19, 1929 — Nov. 6, 2012

Longtime Tuolumne resident Albert J. “Red” Schoonover died Nov. 6 at Veterans Hospital in Fresno. He was 83.

Mr. Schoonover was born in Durango, Colo., to Albert and Jessie Schoonover.

His family moved to Tuolumne in January 1941.

He attended Arastraville Grammar School, Summerville Elementary School and Summerville High School. 

Mr. Schoonover served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. 

After the war, he had a varied career working as a logger, truck driver and mechanic. Eventually he owned his own logging truck.

He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He enjoyed boating, camping, fishing, hunting and working on motor vehicles. 

Mr. Schoonover was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Schoonover; his son, Bob Schoonover; and his parents.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Kevin Camden, of Coarsegold; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Betty Peterson, of Tuolumne, Virginia Dahl Conn, of Tennessee, and Doris and Bernard Plants, of Paradise; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

A private family service will be held at a later date.

The Neptune Society of Central California is handling arrangements.
