Patricia Louise Dean
Jan. 20, 1925 — Nov. 23, 2011

    Mokelumne Hill resident Patricia Louise Dean died Nov. 23 at Mark Twain Convalescent Hospital in San Andreas. She was 86.
    Born in Fargo, N.D., to Fritz and Helen Kowalski, she was a homemaker for many years.
    She lived in Mokelumne Hill for 22 years.
    Mrs. Dean is survived by her children and their spouses, Danny F. and Theresa Dean, of Albuquerque, N.M., John W. and Linda Dean, of Escalon, Mark P. Dean, of Sacramento, Gary A. and Michelle Dean, of Auburn, and Nancy L. Dean-Helsel and Greg Helsel, of Mokelumne Hill; daughter-in-law, Jan Dean, of Auburn; siblings, John Kowalski, Marie Mortenson, and Sandra Reitan, all of Minnesota; 19 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbert W. Dean; and son, Timothy C. Dean.
    A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Thursday at the San Andreas Memorial Chapel.
    A Mass will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Friday at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, 162 Church Hill Road, San Andreas.
    San Andreas Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.

Lola Helen Newman
Nov. 28, 1919 — Nov. 26, 2011

    Sonora resident Lola Helen Newman died Saturday at a boarding care facility in Brentwood. She was 91.
    Born in San Francisco to William and Louise Richardson, she graduated from high school and went on to receive her nursing degree from St. Mary’s College.
    She worked as a labor and delivery nurse at Peninsula Hospital in Millbrae for more than 30 years. She moved to Sonora in 1972.
    She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, collecting coins and teddy bears, and donating to numerous charities such as Catholic relief organizations, the American Red Cross, and various veterans’ groups and law enforcement agencies.
    Mrs. Newman is survived by her son, Michael Newman, of Pacifica; siblings, Shirley Currier, of Moraga, and Bill Richardson, of Palos Verdes; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Howard Newman; son, Paul Newman; and siblings, Virginia Grisell and Francis Say.
    A funeral Mass will be celebrated at noon Wednesday at the All Saints Catholic Church in Twain Harte, to be followed by a burial at Mountain Shadow Cemetery in Sonora.
    Fremont Chapel of the Rose is handling arrangements.

Edward H. Bogosian
April 12, 1928 — Nov. 11, 2011

    Valley Springs resident Edward H. Bogosian died Nov. 11 at Mark Twain St. Joseph’s Hospital in San Andreas. He was 83.
    Born in Iran, he came to the United States as a merchant marine when he was 17. He later settled in Lafayette.
    He attend the University of California, Berkeley, and later enlisted in the U.S. Air Force.
    He was a sales manager for Gallo Winery in South San Francisco for about 20 years.
    He lived in Valley Springs for the past 25 years, where he owned Shamrock Associates.
    Mr. Bogosian is survived by his wife of 35 years, Vera Bogosian, of Valley Springs; children and their spouses, Cindy and Scott McInerney, of Valley Springs, Ralph Barringer, of Stockton, Denise and Ron Rassmussen, of Mullen, Idaho, Michelle and Andy Chose, of Pleasant Hill, and Brian Bogosian, of Brentwood; grandchildren and their spouses, Jennifer and Brian Williamson, and Scott and Margaret McInerney, all of Valley Springs, Megan McInerney, of Chico, and Samuel Chose, of Pleasant Hill; and two great-grandsons, both of Valley Springs.
    A private family service is scheduled. San Andreas Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.

Wilma Pauline Hunt
Oct. 4, 1935 — Nov. 19, 2011

    Valley Springs resident Wilma Pauline Hunt died Nov. 19 at Mark Twain St. Joseph’s Hospital in San Andreas. She was 76.
    Born in Sacramento to Andrew and Edith Grant, she was a homemaker and lived in Valley Springs for about 20 years. She enjoyed genealogy, cooking, painting, gardening and music.
    Mrs. Hunt is survived by her husband of 50 years, Donal Hunt, of Valley Springs; children, Steven and wife Dannielle Byerly, of Arizona, and Lise Hunt, of Los Angeles; and grandson, Casey Byerly, of Arizona.
    A service has already been held. San Andreas Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.


    PEASE — Renough Pease, 79, of Sonora, died Sunday at Avalon Care Center. Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
    RODERICK — Koni Roderick, 49, of Jamestown, died Sunday at her home. Heuton Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.
