Dorothy Mae Heron
May 5, 1922 — Oct. 30, 2011

    Lifelong Sonora resident Dorothy Mae Heron died Sunday at Avalon Care Center. She was 89.
    Born in Jamestown to Roscoe and Ruth Gray, she was a housewife for almost 60 years.
    She enjoyed helping her husband on the couple’s ranch, being outdoors and horses.
    She was also an artist who enjoyed drawing and shading in pencil.
    Mrs. Heron is survived by her children, Carol Leslie, and Marilyn Rice, both of Sonora, Frances Bryant, of Oakdale, and Evelyn Olds, of Modesto; grandchildren, Preston Leslie, of Tuolumne, Laura Krieg, of Jamestown, Kerry Rice, of Sonora, Gretchen Farrington, of Soulsbyville, Tim Bryant, of Diamond Bar, Steven Bryant, of Oakdale, Rebecca Olds, of Burbank, and Jim Olds, of Modesto; and 15 great-grandchildren.
    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 60 years, James L. Heron.
    A service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home.
    Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Harry Franklin Bollinger III
May 25, 1929 — Oct. 22, 2011

    Harry Franklin Bollinger III, of Sonora, died Oct. 22 at his home. He was 82.
    Born in Toledo, Ohio, to Harry Franklin Bollinger II and Iva Mae Strawser, he served in the U.S. Army from 1949 to 1953 and went on to drive a truck in Los Angeles for a number of years.
    He and his wife Nadine moved to Sonora in 1976.
    He was an active member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3154 and the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 119. His nickname was Sky.
    He enjoyed building model ships and airplanes, watching western movies, American history, and reading western novels. He also enjoyed trains and railroads.
    Mr. Bollinger is survived by his wife of 35 years, Nadine Lillian Bollinger, of Sonora; children and their spouses, Harry Franklin IV and Eloise Bollinger, Larry and April Bollinger, and Joyce and Robert Gower, all of Sonora, Geraldine and Willard Hastings, of Lebanon, Ore., Starr and Mike Maldonado, of Redwood City, Robin and Donald Hill, of Ravenna, Ohio, Terry and Robin Penn, of Temple City, and Mark and Cathy Penn, of Jamestown; sisters, Flora Fulton, of Idaho, and Shirley Dansie, of La Habra; half-brother, John Tennyson, of La Habra; 17 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
    In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by his brother, Frank Bollinger.
    A memorial service is scheduled for a later date.
