Marjorie A. Griffith
March 8, 1927 — May 1, 2012
Murphys resident Marjorie A. Griffith died May 1 in Angels Camp. She was 85.
Mrs. Griffith was born in Oakland and married her high school sweetheart, Charles Griffith. She worked as a nurse educator at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Stockton for 18 years.
Mrs. Griffith researched the genealogies of her and her husband’s families, publishing books on each. She spoke Welsh, formed and directed a hand bell choir, and played the piano and harp. She was a member of the P.E.O. sisterhood, volunteered as a youth group leader at First Congregational Church in Stockton and later attended Sierra Bible Church in Sonora and Chapel in the Pines in Arnold.
She is survived by husband, Charlie Griffith, of Murphys; daughter M. Sue Griffith, of Angels Camp; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Sunnie Griffith, of Sacramento, and John and Betsy Griffith, of Hathaway Pines; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; six nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Susan Fryman and Peggy Dahl; brothers-in-law, Owen Griffith, Thomas Griffith and Roy Loewenfels and caregiver CC Costa. She was preceded in death by her younger brother John Morris Jones.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 15, at Indian Rock Vineyard, 1154 Pennsylvania Gulch Road, Murphys, CA 95247.

Helen (Brouillet) English Peters

Sonora resident Helen (Brouillet) English Peters died April 29 at Avalon Care Center. She was 88.
Mrs. Peters was born in Minneapolis, Minn. and was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Sonora. She enjoyed bingo, walking along the ocean, sewing, crocheting and knitting. She also enjoyed singing and once sang with the Glenn Miller Orchestra.
Mrs. Peters was preceded in death by her first husband, Owen D. English; her second husband, Tony Peters; her son, Owen D. English; her daughter, Maria L. Ellis; sisters, Rita O’Brien, Lucille Poos and Mary Ellen Brouillet; and her parents, Albert Julian Brouillet and Genevieve Frances (Hess) Brouillet.
She is survived by sons, James O. English, of Clearlake, Daniel English, of Sparks, Nev., Stephen M. English, of Newport, N.S.W., Australia, and Ralph E. English, of Harrogate, Tenn.; daughters, Helen F. Sylvester, of Sonora, Rita M. St. Germain, of Soulsbyville, and Lydia C. English, of Sonora; brothers, Joseph Brouillet and William Brouillet, both of Amherst, Wis.; her sister, Joan Walleser, of Lansing, Iowa; 15 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Private services to be held.

TIBONI — Kevin Dwayne Tiboni, 51, died May 3 at Sonora Regional Medical Center of heart failure. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sonora Baptist Church, 412 Stockton Road, Sonora. Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
