Rachel Dorothy (Lease) Scott

Sonora resident Rachel Dorothy (Lease) Scott died April 27 at an assisted living home in Paradise Valley, Ariz. She was 98.
Mrs. Scott was born in Great Falls, Mont., to Nettie and Newton Lease.
She graduated from University of Michigan, with a master’s degree in music theory.
Mrs. Scott worked as an educator and counselor in Saint Alina, Antioch and in Alaska.
She enjoyed art, and playing the piano and organ.
Mrs. Scott was preceded in death by her parents; all eight of her siblings; and an ex-husband, Dr. Edward M. Scott.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Bonnie J. Rolle and Don Rolle, of Sonora, Elizabeth and Jim Hutcheson, of Indio, Mary Jane Burns, of Phoenix, Ariz., and Kathy Crocroft, of Chandler, Ariz.; grandchildren, Kimberly Borrowdale, of Cottage Grove, Ore., Chelsea Ayala, of Baku, Azerbaijan, Stephen Rolle, of Worcester, Mass., Sarah Burns, of Phoenix, Allyson Burns, of Washington, D.C., Joseph Zinger, of Phoenix, and Jonathon Zinger, of Tempe, Ariz.; and three great-grandchildren.
Private services will be held at a later date in Great Falls.
Bunker Family Funerals and Cremation in Arizona is handling arrangements.
MILES — Christopher L. “CB” Miles, 62, of Sonora, died Friday at his home. Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
ROWE — A memorial service for Patrick Rowe, 26, of Angels Camp, who died April 27 at his home, will be held 4 p.m. Saturday near Jack Knight Hall at Calaveras Big Trees State Park, 1170 Highway 4, Arnold. Angels Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.
BURITA — A celebration of life for John Allen Burita, 68, of Arnold, who died Wednesday at his home, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Hazel Fischer School, 1605 Blagen Road, Arnold.
