Stephanie Mae Mitchell
June 2, 1975 — May 11, 2013
Murphys resident Stephanie Mae Mitchell died May 11 of cardiac arrest after an asthma attack at Mercy General Hospital in Sacramento. She was 38.
Ms. Mitchell was born in Modesto to James Willard Mitchell and Susie Grimes.
Her family to moved to Calaveras County when she was 15. She enjoyed horseback riding at the family ranch, competing in pleasure horse competitions and riding in parades as a young woman.
She met Anthony Tate at 17. They started a family and moved to Oklahoma a few years later. She raised four children: Shelby Adams, Andrew Tate, Christopher Tate and Samantha Tate.
She moved back to California about 10 years ago, and met her boyfriend, Daniel Marschand, about seven years ago.
Ms. Mitchell enjoyed playing billiards, camping, hiking, swimming, motorcycles, the outdoors and animals. Her family described her as outgoing.
Ms. Mitchell was preceded in death by her father, James Willard Mitchell, who died before she was born.
She is survived by her children Shelby Adams, Andrew Tate, Christopher Tate and Samantha Tate, all of Modesto; her mother, Susie Grimes, of Vallecito; her stepfather, Michael Adams, of the Central Valley; her siblings and their spouses, Theodore and Amber Adams, of the Central Valley, Sarah and Sean Akers, of Angels Camp, Richard Adams and his fiance, Leilani Kekai, of Vallecito; her grandparents, Barbara Armstrong, of Modesto, and Richard Warnock, of Mariposa County, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at Utica Park in Angels Camp.

Dianna Louise (Rego) Piasecki
March 31, 1954 — May 23, 2013
Tuolumne resident Dianna Louise (Rego) Piasecki died May 23 of lung cancer at Sonora Regional Medical Center. She was 59.
Mrs. Piasecki was born in Hayward to Robert and Rose Rego.
She graduated from Hayward High School and worked for the Oakland School District for a number of years.
Mrs. Piasecki moved to Tuolumne County about 20 years ago and worked with her husband, Bob Piasecki, at Gold Country Realty for the past 12 years.
She was a Christian and enjoyed reading the Bible. She also enjoyed fishing, hunting, cutting firewood and showing houses with her husband.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Rose Rego; and her brother, Dan Rego.
She is survived by her husband, Bob Piasecki, of Tuolumne; daughter, Jennifer Rego, of Manteca; son, Daniel Rego, of Manteca; and sister-in law, Judith Rego, of Manteca.
Heuton Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
