Vincent Nicolas Marques

Dec. 11, 1969 — May 12, 2014

Vincent Nicolas Marques, 44, died peacefully in his sleep on Monday, May 12, 2014, of natural causes.

Vinnie was born on Dec. 11, 1969, in French Camp, Calif. He graduated in 1988 from Sonora High, where he played football and baseball. He attended Columbia College after high school, then moved to Stockton to coach at Bear Creek High. Whether it was coaching football, baseball, soccer or umpiring softball, Vinnie was actively involved in sports in Tuolumne County.

Last season, he coached the Summerville Jr. Bears football where his only, beloved son, Nicolas, played line. The greatest accomplishment of his life was the love he gave his son. Vinnie also enjoyed watching his favorite team, the 49ers, and fishing with friends. He successfully ran his own business, Always Available Hauling, until his illness.

Vince is survived by his only son, Nicolas Marques; and his devoted mother, Elizabeth

Morehead. He is also survived by the Espiritu, Medeiros, Garcia, Carpenters, Nicolas, and

Mancbach families.

A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 7, at the Veterans Memorial Hall in Tuolumne. In lieu of flowers, an account has been set up for Nicolas at Umpqua Bank.
