Dolores Jean Stone

July 26, 1929 — May 9, 2003

Dolores Jean Stone, a resident of Sonora, died Friday at her residence after a long illness. She was 73.

Mrs. Stone, born in Florida, moved to Los Angeles when she was a child. While staying in Los Angeles, she met and married her high school sweetheart, Jack. She lived in Santa Cruz for 30 years before relocating to Twain Harte in 1989. After living there for two years, she moved to Sonora and lived there for more than 11 years.

Mrs. Stone was a member of the Sierra Foothills Women's Club and Rivers of Life Church. She attended the Seventh-day Adventist Church and Sierra Bible Church during her time in the Mother Lode. She loved people, traveling and spending time with her friends, her family said.

She is survived her a daughter, Diane Stone of Sonora; a son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Lori Stone of Idaho; two grandsons, Bryan and Matthew Stone of Idaho; a sister, Verda Alfson of Florida; and three nephews and one niece.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack.

A memorial service is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. today at the Rivers of Life Church. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 73, Jamestown, CA 95327. Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.


CLARKE — Rachel Mary Clarke, 89, a resident of Twain Harte, died Monday in a nursing home after a long illness. The Neptune Society is handling arrangements.

DODGE — Hugh Dodge, age unavailable, a resident of Columbia, died yesterday at his residence. Heuton Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.

MAE — Carrell Frieda Mae, 83, a resident of Tuolumne, died yesterday at a local hospital. Heuton Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.
