Sonora resident Marie Kirkland Britt died Feb. 3 at Avalon Care Center. She was 76.
Mrs. Britt was born in Santa Fe, N.M., to John and Edna Kirkland. She was raised on a dairy farm in Salinas with her siblings.
In 1989, she moved to Sonora, where she met and married Ken Britt. Mrs. Britt was a home health aide for many years.
She and her husband were members of the Moose Lodge and she enjoyed gardening.
Mrs. Britt was preceded in death by her husband, Ken Britt; her sister, Treva Brewer; her brother, Johnny Kirkland; and her great-grandson, Angel Rivera.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-laws Terri and Michael Hendee, of Sonora, and Cindy and Mark Stewart, of Salinas; her son, Donnie Halterman, of Grand Island, Neb.; her brothers, Jimmy Kirkland, of Palo Alto, and Joey Kirkland, of Sonora; granddaughters Tori Fowles and Shenel Ozisik; grandsons Jason and Justin Fowles; and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, with a service at 10:30 a.m. at Angels Flight Winery (formerly the Country Cowboy Church), 19030 Standard Road, Standard.

Former Tuolumne County resident Patricia Elaine Goodrich died Feb. 29 in a Beaverton, Ore., hospital. She was 71.
Mrs. Goodrich was born in Martinez and lived in the Sonora-Jamestown area from 1989 to 2010.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Laverne Cole and Vesta Odom.
Mrs. Goodrich is survived by her husband, Charles Goodrich, of Tigard, Ore.; sons Christopher Goodrich, Brian Goodrich, and Russ Goodrich; and her daughter, Vicki Goodrich.

Evelyn Blanche Cole Herron
May 10, 1920 — March 2, 2012
Jamestown resident Evelyn Blanche Cole Herron died March 2 at a Woodland hospital. She was 91.
Mrs. Herron was born in Okanogan, Wash., and lived in Jamestown for 28 years. She was a member of the Jamestown United Methodist Church. She enjoyed bingo, sewing and crotchet. She was a waitress for eight years.
Mrs. Herron is survived by sons Franklin Herron, of Cupertino, Joseph Herron, of Fremont, Neb., and James Herron, of Mesa, Ariz.; her granddaughter, Rochelle Herron, of Woodland; and grandsons Johnny Herron, of Fla. and Jason Aseniero Herron, of Witchita, Kan.
Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Heuton Memorial Chapel with a memorial service to follow at the chapel at 1 p.m.

Wendy Marie Sifuentes

Sonora resident Wendy Marie Sifuentes died Feb. 24 at her home of lung cancer. She was 45.
Mrs. Sifuentes was born in Hayward. She grew up in San Leandro and attended Marina High School.
Mrs. Sifuentes and her husband moved to Sonora 18 years ago. She enjoyed playing women’s softball on the Black Oak Casino team and various other teams. She also enjoyed camping and going to Woodward Reservoir in Oakdale during vacations and weekends.
Mrs. Sifuentes is survived by her husband, John Sifuentes; her children Johnny, Joey and Jenessa, all of Sonora; her mother and stepfather, Linda and Paul Millhouse, of San Leandro; her sister, Heather Pretti, of Danville; her father, Manuel Pretti; an uncle and numerous aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws.
A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Santos-Robinson Mortuary, 160 Estudillo Avenue, San Leandro.

Rachel E. Williams
June 22, 1915 — Feb. 29, 2012
Longtime Sonora resident Rachel E. Williams died Feb. 29 at Alexander Cohen Hospice House in Hughson. She was 96.
Mrs. Williams was born in Idaho and raised in Weed, Siskiyou County, with seven siblings in the Linville family. She moved with her husband, O.W. “Slim” Williams, to the Sonora area, where she lived for 75 years.
Mrs. Williams enjoyed all forms of art. According to her family, growing up near Mt. Shasta inspired her art work and business name “Shades of Shasta.” She enjoyed the outdoors, gardening and hunting and fishing in the High Sierra. She enjoyed singing old Irish songs. She was a past worthy matron of the Order of Eastern Star.
Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her husband, O.W. “Slim” Williams; and all but one of her siblings in the Mt. Shasta area.
She is survived by children Robert Williams, of Tuolumne, Carl Williams, of Columbia, and Connie Humphry, of Hughson; grandchildren Randy Williams, of Tuolumne, Kim Kelly, of Sonora, Doug Williams, of New York City, Curt Williams, of the San Francisco Bay Area, Tara Williams, of Sonora, Brian Humphry, of McArthur, Shasta County, Trace Fasani, of Lincoln, Tammy Fredriks, of Modesto, and Tina Scott, of Patterson; 15 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Masonic Cemetery in Sonora.
A celebration of life will follow.
