Paul Leslie Ferreira

April 15, 1927 — March 8, 2014

Paul Ferreira passed away at his home in Sonora surrounded by his family on March 8. He was 86 years old. 

Mr. Ferreira was born in St. Helena, Calif., on April 15, 1927. 

Paul was a World War II veteran who served his country in the Merchant Marines and the U.S. Navy. He established Paul’s Body Shop in 1969 in Sonora and retired in 1990. He loved his family, and was an avid fly fisherman. 

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Ferreira and Marie Broach; and his brother, Frank Ferreira.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Pat Ferreira; his three children, Paul Ferreira Jr., Dave Ferreira, and Diane (Dede) Ramback; his 10 grandchildren, Dave Sullivan, Cecelia Serrano, Monica Marple, Carrie Graham, Misty Ferreira, Josh Tindell, Devin Hogue, Allie Aguliar, Tom Taylor, and Casey Ramback; and 11 great-grandchildren.

No services will be held. 

Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home is handling arrangements. 

Death notices

HUNGERFORD — Richard C. Hungerford, 92, of Murphys, died March 14 at his home. No services are planned. Donations in his memory can be made to the San Joaquin Dixieland Jazz Society, care of Billie Ricker, P.O. Box 14, Wallace, CA 95254. Angels Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.

PIPES — James Allen Pipes, 81, of Valley Springs, died March 9 at his home. Donations in his memory can be made to the Hospice of Amador and Calaveras, 1500 Highway 49, Suite 205, Jackson CA, 95642. San Andreas Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements. 

O’BRIEN — John O’Brien, 90, of Sonora, died Tuesday at Casa Viejos in Jamestown. Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
