Ruby Juanita Jones of Angels Camp died Monday at her home. She was 83.
Mrs. Jones was born in Oklahoma on Aug. 10, 1919. She lived in Angels Camp the past 20 years.
She worked as a preschool teacher at Tri Cities Children's Center in Fremont for seven years and retired in 1983. She was a homemaker the rest of her life.
Mrs. Jones was a member of Foothill Community Church in Angels Camp.
She loved to make quilts and crochet.
Mrs. Jones is survived by a daughter, Jo Leen Nixon of Angels Camp; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Jones Sr., in 1980; a son, Robert E. Jones Jr., in 1982; and a daughter, Jean Ann Perry, in 1992.
A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Angels Memorial Chapel in Angels Camp.
Interment will be at Altaville Protestant Cemetery.

Mari Lynn McGregor of Mountain Ranch died Monday at her home after a short illness. She was 69.
Mrs. McGregor was born in Ravanna, Ark., and had lived in Mountain Ranch the past 10 years.
She worked as manager of three rest homes in Tracy, Manteca and Escalon for about 20 years. She retired in January.
Mrs. McGregor belonged to the International Order of Odd Fellows-Rebekah Lodge in San Andreas. She served on the board of directors of the Odd Fellows-Rebekah Children's Home in Gilroy.
Her family said she was the first woman to serve as chief of the Jenny Lind Fire Protection District.
Mrs. McGregor is survived by her husband, Larry McGregor, of Mountain Ranch; a son, Jack McGregor of Stockton; three daughters, Charlette Sexton of Mountain Ranch, Victoria McDonald of San Andreas and Patty Lawerance of Angels Camp; foster daughter, Charlotte Simmons of Mountain Ranch; two brothers, Royce Jones of Exeter, Tulare County, and Floyd Neeley of Arkansas; two sisters, Martha Carter of Arkansas and Brenda Phelps of Riverside; 14 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Howard Garrison, in 1988.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow at San Andreas Memorial Chapel in San Andreas. Visitation was to be held from 1-5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Burial will be at the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Jenny Lind.

Betty Louise (Curnow) Kahl

Betty Louise (Curnow) Kahl, a lifelong resident of Sonora, died Feb. 27 at her daughter's home in Texas. She was 77.
Mrs. Kahl, a career homemaker, was born in Sonora.
She is survived by a daughter, Jo Karen Wood of Spring, Texas; two sons, Kerrigan Kahl of Clovis and Bruce Kahl of Reno, Nev.; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
No service was held. Interment was at Mountain Shadow Cemetery in Sonora.
LINN Elise Linn, 89, of Sonora died yesterday at a Modesto care home. Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
COFFEY Dean Coffey, 85, of Sonora died yesterday at a Sonora hospital. Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
