Emmett ‘Frank’ O’Malley

Sonora resident Emmett “Frank” O’Malley died May 30 at his home. He was 71.
Mr. O’Malley was born in Long Beach. He lived in Sonora for 43 years and worked as a truck driver. He also served in the U.S. Air Force. His interests included history, reading, watching TV, football, Western music, camping and fishing. In his youth, he enjoyed Native American dancing.
Mr. O’Malley is survived by his wife, Rosemary O’Malley, of Sonora; daughter, Shavonne O’Malley, of Sonora; stepson, William Dunn, of Placerville; stepdaughter Connie Kent, of Powell, Wyo.; sister Karen Mein, of Henderson, Nev.; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Heuton Memorial Chapel, with a service to follow at 1:30 p.m.
Burial will be at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in Sonora. Heuton Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.
Judith Cole Black
May 14, 1930 — May 27, 2012
Judith “Judy” Cole Black died May 27 at her residence in Twain Harte. She was 82.
She was born in Akron, Ohio, the daughter of Frederic M. Cole and Sadie Lillian Oleson Cole.
A retired court reporter, she lived in Twain Harte for 22 years. She was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority, a sports enthusiast, bridge player and accomplished quilter.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Janet Hoyt; and a brother, Robert M. Cole.
She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Robert L. Black, of Twain Harte; one twin sister, Jacqueline C. Hargreaves, of Bonita Springs, Fla; children, James B. Hickey, of Carmichael, Deborah K. Hickey, of Ridgecrest, Robin M. Black, of Sacramento, Pamela S. Desmond, of Jeannette, Pa., and David R. Hickey, of New Cumberland, Pa.; grandchildren, Theo A. DeRosa, of Sacramento, David P. Arndt, of Pasadena, Derek J. Arndt, of Irvine, Lisa M. Conti, of Trafford, Pa., Megan P. Conti, of Jeannette, Pa., Melyssa E. Hickey, of New Cumberland, Pa., Sarah N. Hickey, of New Cumberland, Pa., and Matthew R. Hickey, of Fort Bragg, N.C., and Ryan J. Hickey, of Boston, Mass; and two great-grandchildren.
No services are planned. Donations may be sent in her memory to the American Parkinson’s Association.

TAYLOR — Former Copperopolis resident Charlotte Taylor, 86, died Tuesday at a Manteca hospital. A service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Cherokee Memorial Park, 831 Industrial Way, Lodi.
