Everett Bradley

June 11, 1905 – June 2, 2004

Everett Bradley died Wednesday at a Sonora care home. He was 98.

He had lived in Jamestown for eight years.

Mr. Bradley was a self-employed farmer for 50 years. He was also a horseman and member of the First Christian Church.

He is survived by two daughters, Marian Ivanovich of Watsonville and Sylvia Hender of Jamestown; two sons, David Bradley of Riggins, Idaho, and Richard Bradley of Aberdeen, Wash.; 19 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Vinita Bradley; two brothers, Elliott Bradley and Allen Bradley; one sister, Mildred Spain; one daughter, Janice Jensen; and two grandchildren, Earl Hansen and Amy Bowman.

A funeral was to be held today at 11 a.m. at Davis Mortuary in Watsonville with burial afterward at Pajaro Valley Memorial Cemetery. A luncheon was to be served at the Corralitos Women's Club after the burial. Heuton Memorial Chapel handled the initial arrangements in Sonora.


Renee Oman

March 10, 1939 – June 3, 2004

Longtime Chinese Camp resident Colleen Renee Oman died Thursday at a Jamestown care home. She was 65.

She was born in Oakland and had lived in Chinese Camp for 57 years. She worked for the Tuolumne County Road Department for 14 years.

She is survived by her friend and care giver, Wanda Albertson of Chinese Camp.

At her request, no service is planned. Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home handled arrangements.



Dec. 29, 1952 – May 6, 2004

Jeffrey VanderPlate died May 6 at a San Francisco hospital after a battle with lung cancer. He was 51.

He was born in Patterson, N.J., and moved to Jamestown 23 years ago.

He was a real estate developer and for the last five years was owner of Gold Mine Winery near Columbia.

VanderPlate was a gifted musician and friend to many, said his friend, Ron Brandon of Sonora. Mr. VanderPlate was the kind of guy who always had time to help someone in need, he said.

VanderPlate's musical endeavors included touring with Andre Crouch, and producing a CD for his ex-wife, Tata Vega, said Brandon.

Mr. VanderPlate is survived by his son, Jeffrey Christian of San Francisco; a daughter, Chloe Lane of Sherman Oaks, Los Angeles County; a sister, Arlene De-Vries-Eige of Fairfax, Marin County; a br-other, Glenn VanderPlate of Arroyo Gr-ande, San Luis Obispo County; and his mother, Velia VanderPlate of Arroyo Grande.

A memorial gathering will be held from 5-9 p.m. Sunday at Gold Mine Winery, 22265 Parrotts Ferry Road, featuring friends, memories and 18 of his original songs.


HALL — Michael Hall, 62, of Sonora died Friday at a Turlock nursing and rehabilitation center. Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

RABY — Dempsey Raby, 77, of Sonora died Friday at a Modesto Hospital. Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

STEPHENS—James Stephens, 84, of Tuolumne died yesterday at a Sonora Hospital. Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

GIORGI — In addition to other survivors, Janet Jose Giorgi of Lodi is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Dick Beerman of Sonora. Mrs. Giorgi died May 31 at a Sonora convalescent hospital after a lengthy battle with diabetes. She was 73.

DAVIS — An informal celebration of life for Lewis A. Davis will be held from 1-4 p.m. Saturday at the Lions' Scout Hut, 98 School St., Murphys. Mr. Davis, of Vallecito, died Feb. 9 at a San Francisco hospital.
