Ann (Francken) Schlink

Soulsbyville resident Ann (Francken) Schlink died May 17 at Sonora Regional Medical Center. She was 77.
Mrs. Schlink was born in Quilmes, Argentina, to Gerardo Francken and Whilhelmina Adriana (Zuidam) Francken.
She moved to the United States when she was 20 on a missionary scholarship to the Reformed Bible Institute in Grand Rapids, Mich.
She returned to Argentina as a missionary for a number of years, then in 1967 got another full scholarship to Calvin College in Michigan.
Later she graduated from University of Tennessee as an English major.
After marrying Leo Schlink on June 25, 1971, the couple moved to Fremont to raise their children.
The couple moved to Soulsbyville about seven years ago for retirement.
Mrs. Schlink was a Christian and enjoyed translating the Bible from English into Spanish and teaching Bible studies. She also enjoyed oil painting.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Leo Schlink, of Soulsbyville; her children, Richard Schlink, of Sonora, and Nancy Schlink, of San Jose; and one grandchild, Noah Schlink, of San Jose; siblings, Bill Francken, of Fremont, and Adrian and Elena Francken, both of Argentina.
Services have been held.

KRAFT — A memorial service for Carol Helen Kraft, 88, of Murphys, who died May 17 at Mark Twain Convalescent Hospital in San Andreas, was planned for 11 a.m. today at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Murphys, 619 Sheep Ranch Road, Murphys.
PRESSLER — A celebration of life for May Pressler, 95, formerly of Sonora, who died Feb. 11 at Settler’s Ridge Care Center in Celina, Texas, will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at Sonora Bible Church Children’s Chapel, 15171 Tuolumne Road, Sonora.
SLATER — A celebration of life for Robert Alan “Bob” Slater, 82, of Jamestown, who died May 3 at his home, will be held 11 a.m. Sunday, at Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Posse Clubhouse, 19130 Rawhide Road, Jamestown.
STEIN — Amy Stein, 95, of Sonora, died Friday at her home. Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
