Kevin ‘Shane’ Gause
Aug. 19, 1983 — June 6, 2012
Former Copperopolis resident Kevin “Shane” Gause died June 6 at a Modesto hospital. He was 28.
He was born in San Clemente and was an automotive-smog technician. Mr. Gause enjoyed playing games, camping, golfing, shooting and boating.
He also enjoyed taking long drives in his Nissan 300ZX convertible.
He is survived by his father and stepmother, Kevin J. and Leslie Gause, of Copperopolis; his mother, Donna M. Gause, of Modesto; his fiancee, Ashlee Ross; brothers, Gabriel and Morgan Gause; his sister, Kristi Carroll, of Modesto; his stepsister, Micheala Brummund; grandparents, James and Donna E. Gause; one niece; one nephew; his godson; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
A celebration of life was held over the weekend.
Angels Memorial Chapel handled arrangements.
Charles ‘Charlie’ Joseph
March 18, 1922 — June 5, 2012
Twain Harte resident Charles “Charlie” Joseph died June 5 at a Manteca assisted living center. He was 90.
Mr. Joseph, like his father and brother, worked as a glazier, installing windows in buildings and cars.
His biggest interest was being a drummer and singer. He played in various bands in the East Bay Area, the last of which played at the Embers in San Lorenzo.
Mr. Joseph’s family vacationed in Twain Harte for 25 years and he and his wife, Muriel, purchased a cabin there when they retired in 1980.
The couple spent many years in Twain Harte and enjoyed spending time with friends visiting from Hayward. They also enjoyed traveling in the U.S. and overseas.
Mr. Joseph was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Muriel Joseph; parents, Joe and Laura Joseph; brothers, Joe and Bill; sisters, Mary Ann Nunes, Delma Joseph and Laura “Lolo” Carson; and a great-granddaughter, Sarah Leverett.
Mr. Joseph is survived by children and their spouses, Charles and Marion Joseph, of Lincoln, Ken Joseph, of Twain Harte; Joanne and Ed Muniz, of Hayward, Tom Joseph, of Hayward, and Nancy Joseph, of Twain Harte; grandchildren and their spouses, Don and Jessica Muniz, of Oakdale, Kim and Ross Leverett, of Oakdale, Mary and Randy Nunez, of Tracy, Matt and Angela Muniz, of Surprise, Ariz., and Amber Joseph, of Twain Harte; and 12 great-grandchildren.
A service was held in Hayward.
Park View Cemetery and Funeral Home in Manteca handled arrangements.
BARKER — James Barker, 72, of Sonora, died June 15 at a San Rafael rehabilitation center. Keaton’s Mortuary of San Rafael handled arrangements.
