Nov. 7, 1923 – June 15, 2004

Charles Leonhardt of Copperopolis died Tuesday at a Sonora hospital. He was 80.

He was born in Providence, R.I., and lived in Copperopolis for 17 years. He worked as a middle school teacher for Moreland School District in San Jose for 17 years. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1942-45. He was a member of a young men's group named DeMolay, Lake Tulloch Bible Church and Copper Hoppers Square Dance Club.

His family said he enjoyed square dancing and walking.

Mr. Leonhardt is survived by his wife, Marion Leonhardt of Copperopolis; sons, Wayne Leonhardt of Pleasanton and David Leonhardt of Fremont; daughters, Nancy Hendrick of El Dorado Hills, Patricia Heffelfinger of Stockton and June Bagnato of Modesto; 16 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Lake Tulloch Bible Church in Copperopolis.

Maurene Blake

May 11, 1919 – June 14, 2004

Longtime Tuolumne resident Maurene Blake died Monday at a Sonora hospital. She was 85.

She was born in Sanger, Fresno County, and lived in Tuolumne for 60 years. She worked as a cafeteria manger for Summerville Elementary School in Tuolumne for 20 years.

Her family said she loved her family, reading and gardening.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, David and Mary Blake of Tuolumne; a daughter, Kathryn Blake of Oakland; grandsons, Greg Blake of San Francisco and Michael Blake of Fresno; and a granddaughter and her husband, Tamara and Brian Flood of Riverbank.

Private family services are scheduled.

Heuton Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.


CRADDOCK — A memorial service for John Allan Craddock, 77, of Sonora, who died May 29, is scheduled from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, June 26, at his home. Call 532-7224 for directions. Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home handled arrangements.

HAHN — Gertrude Hahn, 91, of La Grange died Sunday at a Stockton hospital. A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. tomorrow at Lake Don Pedro Baptist Church, 4175 Abeto St., in La Grange. A reception will follow at 13548 Hoyito Circle. Park View Funeral Home in Manteca is handling arrangements.
