Thomas Jay Thatcher

Thomas Jay Thatcher of Jamestown died Sunday from injuries suffered in an auto accident. He was 34.
He was born in Sonora and lived in Tuolumne County all his life.
He was a 1988 graduate of Sonora High School and worked as a laborer in the construction industry, and as a logger for many years.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting and the outdoors.
His family said he was well liked and had an infectious smile.
Mr. Thatcher is survived by his parents, Harry and Patty Thatcher of Jamestown; a brother, Tim Thatcher of Jamestown; a son, Chad Brantley of Soulsbyville; a niece, Jaylynn Thatcher of Groveland; two nephews, Tray and Ty Thatcher, both of Groveland; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins throughout California; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dean and Bea Thulin, and his uncle, Michael Thulin.
A memorial potluck is scheduled from noon to 8 p.m. Friday at the Tuolumne County Sheriff's Posse clubhouse in Jamestown.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Sheriff's Posse Scholarship Fund.

Robert David Phillips

Former Sonora resident Robert David Phillips died Saturday from injuries suffered in an auto accident near Silver Springs, Nev. He was 24.
He was born in Sonora to David and Lori Phillips and had been a Nevada resident since he was 1.
He worked as an electrical engineer in the computer software business. He was an Air Force veteran. He was a member of the Mule Deer Foundation.
Mr. Phillips is survived by his parents, David and Lori Phillips of Silver Springs, Nev.; daughter, Sierra Anne Phillips of Yuba City; a sister and brother-in-law, Kelly and Brian Thrailkill of Sparks, Nev.; niece, Taylor, and nephew, Anthony J., both of Sparks; and his grandparents, George and Joanne Durnall of Sonora and Ronald and Carol Phillips of Oakdale.
An inurnment committal service is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Northern Nevada Veterans Cemetery in Fernley, Nev. Services will be with full military honors.
Smith Family Funeral Home in Fallon, Nev., is handling arrangements.
Richard R. Borg

Richard R. Borg of Twain Harte died Thursday at a Palo Alto medical center after a short illness. He was 54.
He was born in Los Angeles and had lived in Twain Harte for 11 years.
He was a design engineer for 11 years. He had a master's degree in biology and entomology.
He was a member of the Philadelphia Church of God.
He was an avid reader, history buff and wine connoisseur, his family said, and enjoyed war gaming.
Mr. Borg is survived by his parents, Donald and Joan Borg of Twain Harte; a sister, Velma Lauritzen of Tonopah, Ariz.; a brother, Donald Borg Jr. of Boise, Idaho; and 18 nieces and nephews.
A funeral service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday at Heuton Memorial Chapel. Burial will be at Carters Cemetery in Tuolumne.
OSTERLOH William Osterloh, 87, of Sonora died yesterday at a Sonora hospital. Heuton Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.
HARKINS Thelma Harkins, 92, of Groveland died yesterday at a Sonora care home. Heuton Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.
