Lois (Lyon) Dalby
July 10, 1945 — June 20, 2013
Jamestown resident Lois (Lyon) Dalby died June 20 at her home. She was 67.
Mrs. Dalby was born in Stockton, the oldest of eight children born to William and Viola Lyon.
She married Louis Dalby in the late 1960s.
The couple moved frequently due to their work in property management and settled in Tuolumne County after building a house in Jupiter.
They moved away in the 1980s and then returned to Tuolumne County and settled in Jamestown in the early 1990s.
She worked as a prep chef at Black Oak Casino for the past six years.
She enjoyed quilting and playing computer games.
Mrs. Dalby was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Dalby in 2012; and her siblings, Donny Lyon, Clifford Lyon, Barbara Lyon, Bill Lyon and Susie Prichard.
She is survived by her children, Thomas Day, of Waterford, John Dalby, of Salida, Tim Dalby, of Sonora, Kimberly Dalby, of Sonora, and Christine Dalby, of Sonora; brothers, Robert and David Lyon, both of Ceres; and seven grandchildren.
A graveside service has been held.

Vincent De Anda
July 12, 1936 — June 28, 2013
Tuolumne resident Vincent De Anda died Friday at Sonora Regional Medical Center’s transitional care unit. He was 76.
Mr. De Anda was born in Tuolumne to Blas and Aurelia De Anda.
He graduated from Merced High School in 1955 and joined the U.S. Army later that year.
He served in Alaska and was a member of the National Guard for more than 30 years.
Mr. De Anda worked in the lumber industry for 35 years, first with Westside Lumber Co. and later with Georgia Pacific Industries.
He also worked for 10 years as a substitute teacher at several Tuolumne County schools, mostly Summerville High School.
He enjoyed reading and watching television.
Mr. De Anda was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Ann Alvarez, Marie Gomez, Reuben De Anda, Floyd De Anda, Freddie De Anda and Juanita De Anda; and his daughter, Sally De Anda in 2012.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Naomi De Anda, of Tuolumne; his children, Christopher De Anda and Mark De Anda, both of Tuolumne; grandchildren, Christopher De Anda Jr., of Oroville, Valerie De Anda, of Oroville, Clara De Anda, of Tuolumne, Adam De Anda, of Tuolumne, Max De Anda, of Tuolumne, Milo De Anda, of Tuolumne, Salvador De Anda, Tuolumne, and Taylor De Anda, Tuolumne; four great-grandchildren; and siblings, Ronnie De Anda, of Merced, Cruz “Corky” De Anda, of Merced, Caroline Shoopman, of Merced, and Ophelia Lopez, Merced.
A Rosary will be recited at noon Wednesday at Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home, 225 E. Rose St., Sonora. A memorial service will follow at 1 p.m. at Terzich and Wilson. Burial will take place at Carters Cemetery in Tuolumne.
BRIGHT — Loren G. Bright, 88, of Groveland, 88, died at Monday at Sonora Regional Medical Center. Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
GATES — Eunice Gates, 79, of Sonora, died Friday at Doctors Medical Center in Modesto. Heuton Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.
WYLE — Jo Wyle, 52, of Sonora, died Friday at Sonora Regional Medical Center. Heuton Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.
