Barbara Jean Kirschner of Sonora died Tuesday at a Sonora hospital. She was 63.
She was born in Roseville at her grandfather Dr. Robert Evelth's home. She was raised in Auburn and graduated from Placer High School in 1959, and from Sierra College.
She lived most of her life in Auburn, where she worked as a card dealer and bartender for more than 30 years.
She lived in Alaska in 1981 and from 1989-2003. While living in Alaska, she worked on the Iditarod Trail Committee doing volunteer work. She also worked on a musk ox farm in Alaska. She later moved to Sonora and lived here for one year.
Her family said she enjoyed fishing, nature and animals.
She is survived by her daughter, Terri Henderson of Tuttletown; sons, Wayne Cotter of Sonora and Michael Cotter of Missouri; and seven grandchildren.
At her request, no services are scheduled.

Former longtime Angels Camp resident Ruby Ellen Baker died June 20 at her Turlock home. She was 80.
She was born in Tahlequah, Okla., and lived in Angels Camp for 22 years. She most recently lived in Turlock for two years. She was a homemaker for 59 years and a member of Church of Christ of Turlock.
Her family said she loved her family and reading.
She is survived by her son, Stanley W. Baker of San Jose; brothers, Charlie Edwards of Turlock, Bill Edwards of Arnold and Jim Edwards of Fresno; sisters, Mary Messecar of Port Hueneme, Ventura County, and Bertie Thompson of Fresno; and grandchildren, Guy, Michael, Andrew, James, Brian and Jesse Baker and Michelle Taylor.
She was preceded in death by her husband and two sons.
A funeral service is scheduled for 1 p.m. tomorrow at Whitehurst, Norton & Dias Chapel, 286 West Main St., in Turlock. Burial is scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Gustine.

MARCI John Leroy Marci, 75, of Valley Springs died Tuesday at a San Andreas hospital. A memorial service is scheduled for 4 p.m. tomorrow at Community United Methodist Church in Valley Springs. San Andreas Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.
